We are seeking someone who can continue the highly developed collaborative ethos of the parish, where every member is encouraged to use their God-given gifts and to build on its excellent record of encouraging vocations to public ministry. Both churches are genuinely inclusive and scripturally faithful.

Role Purpose


  • To exercise the cure of souls shared with the bishop in this parish in collaboration with your colleagues
  • To have regard to the calling and responsibilities of the clergy as described in the Canons, the Ordinal, the Code of Professional Conduct for the Clergy and other relevant legislation.
  • To work to advance the Kingdom of God through servant leadership, collaboration and example, and with particular regard to the current diocesan mission priorities
  • for growing churches

  • for serving the wider community
  • for nurturing vocations
  • To share in the wider work of the deanery and diocese as appropriate, for the building up of the whole Body of Christ


  • To provide vision

Role context and any other relevant information

The parish is the strongest in the Deanery and the Deanery M&P have recommended a stipendiary priest for the foreseeable future. Salford is a Pilot Deanery as part of the Diocesan Fit For Mission Strategy and as such we are exploring ways in which we can work more closely with neighbouring parishes  and how to configure ‘mission units’ across the deanery.
