This newly formed united benefice, created in December 2018, is looking for a priest to walk alongside them on their journey of faith. The three churches have been working together for the last two years but are now looking for a priest to help them build on these relationships. Lay members are willing to take on tasks and to assist in ministry in all three churches. They would welcome a priest who will work with them to create a sustainable pattern of ministry for the future and who can train and use the laity to achieve this.

This is an interim post initially for three years renewable for a further three years. The churches expect the vicar to be realistic about workload and are concerned that the priest will take proper rest days and holidays. It is hoped that he/she will build partnerships with laity and neighbouring clergy so they do not feel that ministry rests on their shoulders alone. The benefice of Marsden and Slaithwaite with East Scammonden lies in the foothills of the Pennines.
