Growing Faith Enabler

Fixed Term Full Time
£40,250 after probation

Growing Faith is the vision set by the House of Bishops and endorsed by General Synod to ensure a national commitment to achieve a significant culture change within the church, so that every aspect of mission and ministry is seen through the lens of what it means for ministry with children, young people and families. It will flow into the type of relationships encouraged between schools and churches, and how these are developed to resource and support households to grow in faith together.

Growing Faith is not a project to be delivered by the national church or the responsibility of one department in the National Church Institutions (NCIs), it must become the responsibility of every diocese, deanery and parish and bring together work across departments to enable the people of God of all ages to live out their faith confidently in homes and schools. Growing Faith seeks to maximise effectiveness and enable dioceses and parishes to have ready access to resources for growing faith in churches, schools and households.

This is a new and exciting opportunity within the Archbishops’ Council, for a Growing Faith Enabler.

Taking a proactive role, you will work with the national teams and within dioceses to capture and disseminate learning from the trailblazer dioceses and bring the work developing in different departments together, in a coherent manner.

Maximising effectiveness, you will enable dioceses and parishes to have ready access to resources for Growing Faith in churches, schools and households.

This role is offered on a fixed term contract which is expected to last for 2 years.

The closing date is the 7th April 2019

Interviews will be held on the 15th April 2019

In return we offer a unique environment with opportunities for continuous learning, generous annual leave for work life balance, season ticket loans and a range of benefits including discounted entry to attractions and what we feel is a market leading package when it comes to our pension scheme.

The Role :

  • Lead to ensure the formation of Growing Faith Parish Clusters (GFPC) in each Trailblazer diocese.
  • Collaborate with all diocesan Growing Faith champions (a senior member of each Bishop’s Staff) to ensure active communication between the champions and national teams and the dissemination of learning and resources.
  • Work with all GFPCs to facilitate, attend and capture the learning from every GFPC and distil it into an accessible form which can be articulated to a wider audience.
  • Evaluate potential impact and outcomes and disseminate the learning between and beyond trailblazer dioceses to be shared by the wider church.
  • Curate a space in which Growing Faith learning and resources can be developed, shared and disseminated more widely in a coherent manner which maximises effectiveness and enables dioceses and parishes to have ready access to resources for Growing Faith in churches, schools and households.
  • Manage the Growing Faith Collaboration Group to ensure cross departmental ownership and the embedding of the vision for Growing Faith across the work of the NCIs.
  • Create, innovate, support and coordinate such other ideas for Growing Faith as may emerge over the next 2 years.
