Does this describe you?

Then you could be part of the Church of England in Leicester and Leicestershire as the Admin Assistant working in the diocesan office.

Based at St Martins House in central Leicester, this is a role serving a number of departments through handling post, office admin, and correspondence/email. There are also some aspects of HR and event administration in the role.

We’re looking for somebody who can help to keep admin processes running smoothly and support the work of the diocesan office as it serves our churches and ministers. The post is suitable for somebody coming to the end of a Level 2 or 3 Business Administration qualification or anyone with some previous administrative experience (paid or voluntary).

The Diocese is a region of the Church of England which covers Leicester and Leicestershire. It is made up of a number of legal entities, with each parish being a separate corporate body. The Leicester Diocesan Board of Finance (DBF) is a registered charity and company limited by guarantee which runs ‘the business’ of the Diocese.

The Administrative Assistant provides administrative support across the various departments which make up the DBF. This involves incoming and outgoing post, routine correspondence and email, mass mailings (usually to the Diocese’s 310 churches) by post or email, processing information received from parishes, and oversight of office equipment. There is also some event administration, such as making room/venue bookings and handling enrolment on training courses.

The Administrative Assistant will be based in the Chief Executive’s office and will be line managed by the Executive Assistant, Lynn Phillips.
