Transforming Mission (TM) is a model for the renewal of Anglican Church life across the Diocese of Truro. This programme seeks to develop a version of Resource Church that learns and borrows from current practice in other dioceses but is tailored to fit the Cornish context. 2) Develop an effective ministry to the student community in Falmouth;
3) Identify, nurture and train future leaders in ministry, lay and ordained, who can be deployed in the Deanery, Diocese and the wider Church;
4) Develop a model of Town Resource Church, which will be replicated across towns in Cornwall and beyond.
5) To develop an interconnected network of resources to be shared across the town to best serve the missional community, including venues, equipment and people.
A core aspect of TM is the development and running of a thriving student hub and café which will act as a place of welcome and a focus for students in the town. It is a place for students and others to meet, to get to know the Church and to enjoy quality food and drink.
This role requires someone with experience in running a successful café or restaurant; strong communication skills; confidence in using social media and other tools for increasing brand awareness; and a commitment to high quality, friendly service.
The Café Manager will lead the day-to-day management of Huddle café and lead the development of the business as a sustainable enterprise that remains true to its missional objectives. This will include:
·Day-to-day management of the café
·Leading a team of staff and volunteers
·Ensuring the café meets all statutory and best practice standards
·Marketing and PR
The most important requirement for this role is relevant previous experience. It is desirable that the successful applicant hold a relevant professional or business qualification and will be required to complete health and safety and food hygiene training if not already recently completed.
