The IT Department of the National Church Institutions (NCIs) has undergone a radical transformation. IT now executes a mixture of on premise, Cloud and 3rd party sourced IT services, in an entirely new and modern IT infrastructure that utilises the latest technologies. The IT function serves 600 staff in NCIs and NCIS co-located bodies and aims to adopt common solutions across NCIs where practical. IT provides a broad range of customer focused IT services such as technical architecture and support, networks, change management, business analysis, project management, Training, Procurement, systems administration and applications.

We are seeking a IT Team Administrator to provide a broad range of daily administrative support and administration services to a busy IT department and in particular to the Director of IT, and Senior IT Managers.

The main responsibilities for this role are;

  • Manage incoming and outgoing post, packages, deliveries and courier arrangements

  • Answer office telephones when staff are away from their desks

  • Take photographs and create, delete and amend users on the building access system and Gateway

  • Work with Procurement to review suppliers and in product/services tendering

  • Order IT equipment, consumables, office supplies, maintain stock control and inventories

  • Provide monthly reports on IT purchases and stock levels

  • Maintain inventories of AV equipment in meeting rooms, including support contract details and manage the provision of user guides and how do I information on the Gateway/Intranet

  • Maintain the IT Service Catalogue and ensure it is published and always up to date

  • Maintain the IT content on the NCIs Gateway/ and show content managers how to use the content management system

  • Keep vendors information up to date and process new vendors who need to be set up on SAP.

  • Manage IT team mailboxes and process and route correspondence accordingly

  • Provide customers with costs for hardware, software and other services, help them to complete their associated purchase orders correctly and resolve any issues arising

  • Evidence of continuing professional development


  • Good technical awareness of IT products and services
  • Good understanding of software licensing and hardware maintenance procedures
  • Understanding of internal recharge solutions
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work on own initiative, under pressure and to deadlines
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Excellent organisational skills


  • Proven administrative experience
  • Experience in maintaining inventories, registers or logs
  • Liaising between technical and non-technical staff
