The Trustees of the Pilsdon at Malling Community are seeking a new Guardian to succeed the present Guardian who will be leaving us in March 2024.

Are you an empathetic and understanding person?

We are offering the opportunity to devote some years of your life to the pastoral and practical care of lives in need of healing and rebuilding.

As Guardian you will work collaboratively and flexibly with other community members, volunteers and outside agencies. You will be responsible for ensuring the well-being of the residents, the management of the buildings and compliance with regulatory and financial matters. Through your communication skills you will promote the work of Pilsdon at Malling.

We are looking for someone with:

• Strong and broad theology/spirituality
• Empathy and understanding of the needs of people living with addiction, mental health issues and going through difficult times
• Leader and encourager who can delegate
• Boundless energy, enthusiasm, confidence and humour
• Good physical and mental health
• Able to initiate outreach, fundraising and new projects
• Physically and mentally robust
• A good understanding of budget and financial management
• Ideally knowledge of health and safety regulations for buildings and residents
• Good communication skills
