The Diocese of Chelmsford and Simeon’s Trustees are looking to appoint a Vicar to All Saints, Goodmayes, with a heart for this diverse community and for the opportunities presented by the developments growing around the Elizabeth Line.

This being a half-time post, the successful candidate will need to have the ability to encourage, enable and equip others to share in the church’s mission and ministry.

The Sunday services at All Saints are at 08.00 am (said only) and the 10.30 am full service with music. There is congregational involvement in our services and midweek activities as leaders, readers, intercessors, including our youngsters.

Midweek we enjoy online fellowship, prayer, and bible study via zoom. We would love to re-ignite home groups and see growing disciples from them.

On Fridays 08.00 – 08.45, the church hold prayers and thereafter the doors are open for the Foodbank ministry. Holy Communion is offered at least, twice per month at 08.00 am and 10.30 am.

We have Youth Church and once a while the youths lead the service. Many people come from outside the parish to worship. On average our attendance breakdown is about 50, including children.

All Saints is excellently located in the East London ‘urban village’ of Goodmayes. As well as good schools there are good public transport links, bus, road and rail. Easy bus transport to Barking, Barkingside, Romford, Ilford, and Stratford. There is easy access to trunk roads, A406, A12, A13, A127 and motorways M11 and M25. The Elizabeth line offers a 20-minute journey from Goodmayes station to Central London and the West End.

Members of the congregation said they like to worship at All Saints for the following reasons:

  1. Services are spiritual, meaningful, and lively.
  2. There is a real welcome to people of all ages, colours, and backgrounds.
  3. Our teaching is traditional, non-judgemental, and friendly.
  4. We are a prayerful and eager-to-learn congregation.
