‘Following Jesus Christ today in the Ancient Capital of Mercia’

Situated in and around the market town of Tamworth in Staffordshire, this Parish offers huge potential for growth and creative mission. Are you the right person to help shape and develop our ministry in the future?

We are a Parish with an experienced Vicar, an enthusiastic team of lay ministers, supportive congregations, and superb, well-placed buildings in good condition!

We are looking forward to welcoming applications from prayerful, enthusiastic, visionary candidates, as we:

  • Develop our mission, and outreach especially to young families, young adults and the vulnerable across Tamworth.
  • Promote and encourage the spiritual growth of our congregations through carefully planned liturgy, thoughtful evangelism, creative prayer, and engaging preaching.
  • Entrepreneurially and imaginatively develop missional links with the community, civic organisations, local college, schools, industry, and new housing in the parish.

If this sounds like the right challenge for you, then we would love to hear from you.

About the Diocese

Lichfield Diocese is one of the most diverse dioceses in the country. Rolling countryside and vibrant inner-city life nestle together in a region that takes in Staffordshire, the Potteries of Stoke-on-Trent, most of Shropshire and bustling Black Country centres including Walsall and Wolverhampton. The only thing we don’t have is the sea!

Our shared diocesan vision extends an invitation to all to “Come follow Christ in the footsteps of St Chad”.

As we follow Christ in the footsteps of St Chad, we pray that the two million people in our diocese encounter a church that is confident in the gospel, knows and loves its communities, and is excited to find God at work already in the world. We pray for a church that reflects the richness and variety of those communities and partners with others in seeking the common good, working for justice as a people of hope.
