Our diocesan vision is to see confident Christians, growing churches, transforming communities. In July 2023 the Diocese of Leeds was awarded funding from the national church for Barnabas: Encouraging Confidence. Barnabas is a holistic, targeted programme of support for our churches, offering resource to grow in confidence as they seek to build church life and community transformation in their parishes.

As part of Barnabas: Encouraging Confidence and in line with the national church vision- we are seeking to grow our number of young disciples by 100% in the next ten years. This will include helping parishes to understand, articulate and deliver their plan to grow their work with children and young people.

Our Values

The Diocesan values, Loving, Living, Learning, are vital to the way we encourage equality, diversity and inclusion in our workplace. We aim to:

  • Love God, the world and one another.
  • Live in the world as it is, but, drawn by a vision of something better, we want to help individuals and communities flourish,
  • Learn when we get things wrong, by listening and growing together.
