IME is a programme of ongoing training, development and support for our curates. The role is responsible for the delivery of residential events and study days throughout the year; monitoring the progress of curates including reviewing portfolios and reporting on their progress; providing support, encouragement and challenge to the curates; and ensuring that the programme is effectively and efficiently administered.
The right person for this role will be an organised people person who is a skilled and engaging teacher. It is essential to have at least 3 years’ experience of parish ministry, knowledge of ministerial formation and a qualification to teach theological subjects. Pastoral/counselling skills, facilitation and excellent general communication skills are also required.
There is an occupational requirement to be a practising Christian for this role. In fact, it requires an ordained priest in the Church of England and must have a commitment to personal discipleship and a willingness to share spiritual insights with others.
This is an interesting and unusual opportunity to play a key role in the development of our curates and gives scope to use skills, experiences and knowledge to have significant impact.
