We are seeking to appointment a Team Vicar to the Benefice of Allertonbywater, Kippax and Swillington.

The Team Vicar will have particular responsibility for the people of Swillington, as well as jointly caring for those in Allerton Bywater and Kippax alongside the Team Rector.

Key mission imperatives include:

To grow our churches numerically, spiritually and in service to the community through these four areas of focus that have been identified by The Team Council and PCCs as continued opportunities for mission and service:

• Worship and outreach for families and young people.
• Pastoral care, especially for our ageing population.
• Occasional Offices (weddings, funerals and baptisms).
• Schools and community groups

We are keen to have a Priest who has the following qualities

• Spiritual and prayerful.
• a person who relates well to all age groups, is positive and encouraging.
• a “people person”. -
• an effective leader with a collaborative approach – clergy and lay working together.
• a good communicator who will strengthen our links with our sister Churches in the Benefice and broaden our outreach in our communities.
• ability to relate to modern technologies and their use in widening our Christian experience and outreach – particularly highlighted by the Corona Virus experience.
• support in our outreach to young families and children.
