We are looking for an experienced, pro-active and skilled administrator to join our motivated and friendly team.

The Operations Assistant (PtO Clergy & Data) will have 3 main areas of responsibility:

1. To provide dedicated administrative support to the office of the Bishop of Truro specifically in regard to the Permission to Officiate (PtO) clergy and Readers in the diocese, all of whom are volunteers, and also to assist in the wider administration or other office work;

2. To act as a high level user and administrator of diocesan databases, working with colleagues to provide accurate and up to date data and supporting others in their use of the databases;

3. To assist with the day-to-day work of the Operations team at Church House, including reception, clerking of meetings, and office procedures.

This role requires an individual with a strong background in administration, particularly records management & maintenance using databases and other digital and paper systems. The successful candidate will be a self-starter who can take the initiative; have excellent organisational skills; and be a clear thinker with a systematic approach to work. We are looking for someone who is great at communicating and does so with empathy; who can manage a range of competing priorities successfully; and who is a safe pair of hands, in whom colleagues will have confidence that they will get the job done.

You do not need to be a practising Christian, but do need to be sympathetic to the aims and objectives of the Church of England.

This is a maternity cover role for 11 months. Previous applicants need not apply.
