We are embarking on an exciting missional journey, networking the Hartshill, Penkhull and Trent Vale Benefice with the neighbouring parish of Trentham.
Under the team leadership of the vicar of Trentham we seek to appoint a mission-focussed associate vicar to lead in growth and discipleship, working alongside another, newly appointed, full-time Associate Vicar, a community development worker, and potentially a self-supporting minister.
There are clear signs of growth in the benefice which we hope to fan into flame through the development of the links with St Mary's Trentham, a thriving charismatic-evangelical church, and the establishment of a strong, well-resourced, ministry team.
The new Associate Vicar will focus on one of the parishes whilst also contributing across the team. The post is initially for 5 years with the hope that, as the congregations grown, the post will become financially sustainable for the future and therefore permanent.
About the Diocese
Lichfield Diocese is one of the most diverse dioceses in the country. Rolling countryside and vibrant inner-city life nestle together in a region that takes in Staffordshire, the Potteries of Stoke-on-Trent, most of Shropshire and bustling Black Country centres including Walsall and Wolverhampton. The only thing we don’t have is the sea!
Our shared diocesan vision extends an invitation to all to “Come follow Christ in the footsteps of St Chad”.
As we follow Christ in the footsteps of St Chad, we pray that the two million people in our diocese encounter a church that is confident in the gospel, knows and loves its communities, and is excited to find God at work already in the world. We pray for a church that reflects the richness and variety of those communities and partners with others in seeking the common good, working for justice as a people of hope.
