Bishop’s Chaplain
The post of Bishop’s Chaplain requires a minister of mature faith, able to offer a range of skills appropriate to a wide-ranging, varied and responsible role.
We are looking for someone who will:
¨ Be of mature faith and spirituality.
¨ Have proven theological and liturgical expertise.
¨ Have excellent administrative, communication and organisational skills.
¨ Show ability to be at home in a variety of ecclesial settings and styles.
¨ Have the capacity and personality to relate appropriately to a wide range of people.
¨ Demonstrate flexibility, sensitivity and pastoral skills.
¨ Understand and be committed to the principles and practices of confidentiality.
¨ Have a clear understanding of safeguarding issues.
We are aware that those of Global Majority Heritage/United Kingdom Minority Ethnic, women and people with disability are under-represented and we particularly encourage applications from those with the relevant skills and experience that would increase this representation.
The Bishop’s Chaplain will be ordained as deacon or priest within the Church of England, another Anglican Province or a church in full communion with the Church of England. This post is subject to an enhanced disclosure from the DBS.
