This group of traditional churches is looking for a priest with good leadership qualities, a pastoral heart and a vision and passion for rural ministry who will help us successfully negotiate change - valuing our heritage whilst leading innovation. Four of these churches (Beckingham, Brant Broughton, Leadenham and Welbourn) have regular services (twice a month) whilst the fifth (Stragglethorpe) is a ‘festival’ church.

The plurality consists of three benefices (Brant Broughton with Beckingham; Leadenham; Welbourn) working together as a mission community.

The five churches are located in rural mid-west Lincolnshire, approximately 12 miles south of Lincoln, close to the Nottinghamshire border with excellent access to the A1 and the East Coast mainline railway. All are accessible either from the A17 or A607. The largest village has a population of 600+ and the smallest 300.

These are commuter villages for Grantham, Lincoln and Newark, with regular train services to London Kings Cross with journey times of between 65 -90 minutes.

Our demographic is a mixture of ages ranging from young families to the elderly and everything in between!

The regular Sunday services use both Common Worship Order One and Book of Common Prayer.

We are looking for a priest who will help us:

  • grow together in faith and become more confident disciples of Jesus
  • nurture and develop our group identity
  • further develop links with three Church of England Primary schools and a secondary school

  • A natural ability to relate comfortably to everyone
  • Good leadership qualities
  • A pastoral heart
  • Passion for rural ministry
  • Collaborative skills
  • Able to successfully negotiate change - valuing our heritage whilst leading innovation
