Northampton Archdeaconry
Office Holder

In this post, you would be working with a supportive and encouraging team in the Tove Benefice. The Benefice is centred in the market town of Towcester, situated within the beautiful countryside of South Northamptonshire.
We seek to appoint an Associate Priest who will bless us with their gifts and talents and assist our Rector in ministering across this active Benefice. We are looking for someone to join us on this journey of sharing and equipping our Benefice for the future.
You may not tick all the boxes below, but if our advert and Benefice profile warms your heart then we would love to hear from you.

For an informal discussion about the role, please contact The Revd Paula Challen on 01327 350459 or email rector.tovebenefice@gmail.com.

Applications preferred from our website Diocese of Peterborough | Vacancies (peterborough-diocese.org.uk) or by emailing the PA to the Archdeacons: pa.archdeacons@peterborough-diocese.org.uk

  • To be a trusted member of the ministry team, with scope to shape and develop your areas of responsibility around your gifts and skills
  • To be involved in all aspects of ministry with the Benefice, taking a share of Occasional Office Services
  • To be responsible for the PCCs of Greens Norton and Bradden. This comprises the on-going engagement with the PCCs, with oversight of four formal meetings a year, for each parish.

We are challenging ourselves to embody the Church of England’s current strategies of providing ‘an enriching and compelling community of faith by adding new forms of Church’ to our Benefice and to create a ministry that is ‘simpler, humbler, bolder’ (Church of England Vision 2022). We look for a priest who:

  • operates ably within the variety of worship styles (including BCP, Communion, informal and online);
  • enjoys engaging in creative discussions with the wider community;
  • has previous experience or insight of working alongside PCCs.
  • preferably has digital skills in using zoom and iKnow, but training can be given.
