The suburban parish of St Augustine's with St Luke's, Bromley Common has a population of around 16,000, many of whom make the daily commute to Central London (which is 30 minutes away).
Although the congregation includes several Afro-Caribbean families, this is not representative of the whole parish, which has a low ethnic diversity. Liturgically the tradition is 'Central' (robes are worn for Eucharistic services). The Vicar is supported by a Youth & Schools Minister, a Parish Administrator, and a strong and enthusiastic lay team.
For an application form, please contact Fiona Porter (the Archdeacon's PA) on firstname.lastname@example.org - or by ringing her on 020 8467 8743
We are looking for a Vicar who can relate to all ages, is able to inspire, energise and encourage others, is outward looking with a vision to take us forward, and flexible with the ability to embrace change.
It is an exciting time at St Augustine's with St Luke's. In the past two years we have launched Messy Church, a dementia cafe, an adult craft group, and sent a group to our link parish in Tanzania, to name but a few! We have also started working on our Mission Action Plan, which you can see on our website http://www.st-augustines.org.uk
