Wombourne is a growing suburban village in South Staffordshire with a population of 15,000, on the edge of beautiful countryside and easily accessible to the motorway network. There is a daughter church of The Venerable Bede in the parish and an additional four parishes making up the Team: Bobbington, Himley, Swindon and Trysull.
We are looking for someone who will:
• Lead our worship in the central tradition;
• Oversee our vision and strategy;
• Develop and nurture ministry teams;
• Enjoy being part of village life in the parishes;
• Offer ministry across the parishes and pastoral support in Wombourne;
• Grow our congregations.
Following recent consultation over deployment and resourcing, this is an exciting opportunity for an experienced priest to develop the life of the Team and lead the churches into their next season.
The Vicarage is a detached four bedroom house with well-proportioned rooms about 100 yards from the church, opposite the Church School.
About the Diocese
Lichfield Diocese is one of the most diverse dioceses in the country. Rolling countryside and vibrant inner-city life nestle together in a region that takes in Staffordshire, the Potteries of Stoke-on-Trent, most of Shropshire and bustling Black Country centres including Walsall and Wolverhampton. The only thing we don’t have is the sea!
Our shared diocesan vision extends an invitation to all to “Come follow Christ in the footsteps of St Chad”.
As we follow Christ in the footsteps of St Chad, we pray that the two million people in our diocese encounter a church that is confident in the gospel, knows and loves its communities, and is excited to find God at work already in the world. We pray for a church that reflects the richness and variety of those communities and partners with others in seeking the common good, working for justice as a people of hope.
