Office Holder

Our three parishes lie within the attractive rural hinterland to the east of the historic cathedral city of Lichfield, forming part of the Lichfield Deanery and Wolverhampton Episcopal area within the Diocese of Lichfield.

We are seeking a 0.5 Interim Minister, for 3 years under common tenure, with the possibility by mutual agreement of extending for another 3 years.

We very much look forward to welcoming a new part-time parish priest whose ministry is grounded in the Eucharist and prayer, but who is open to diverse and alternative forms of worship. We look for a new incumbent to lead us in working together more closely and growing our three village churches. We want to increase our outreach, presence and ministry within the local community, further develop our already significant wedding ministry, and by provide pastoral care and support as our communities live through the effects of the construction of HS2 in the area.

We in turn will offer enthusiasm, steadfast moral and practical support, and flexibility in finding a new balance between increasing our connection with our village communities and achieving a pattern of worship that is sustainable and accessible.

About the Diocese

Lichfield Diocese is one of the most diverse dioceses in the country. Rolling countryside and vibrant inner-city life nestle together in a region that takes in Staffordshire, the Potteries of Stoke-on-Trent, most of Shropshire and bustling Black Country centres including Walsall and Wolverhampton. The only thing we don’t have is the sea!

Our shared diocesan vision extends an invitation to all to “Come follow Christ in the footsteps of St Chad”.

As we follow Christ in the footsteps of St Chad, we pray that the two million people in our diocese encounter a church that is confident in the gospel, knows and loves its communities, and is excited to find God at work already in the world. We pray for a church that reflects the richness and variety of those communities and partners with others in seeking the common good, working for justice as a people of hope.
