Office Holder

We are two vibrant and outward-facing town centre congregations, who attract worshippers from near and far, but are conscious of our need to grow numerically and spiritually.

We are excited about, and want to build on, recent initiatives to connect with the wider community. We seek to capitalise on our location and develop regular contact with the commercial and business life of the town as well as reaching out to tourists and vulnerable people. St Chad’s also has a civic role and a very fine musical tradition. In short, our churches are Eucharistic, inclusive and missional.

We are looking for a Priest who will:

  • Affirm the partnership between our two churches
  • Accompany us on a journey of deepening our spiritual life
  • Activate and imagine new ways of reaching people outside our church life.

We can offer:

  • Prayer support; enthusiastic, innovative and willing laity, retired clergy, part time administrator
  • Vicarage
  • Great location and transport links

About the Diocese

Lichfield Diocese is one of the most diverse dioceses in the country. Rolling countryside and vibrant inner-city life nestle together in a region that takes in Staffordshire, the Potteries of Stoke-on-Trent, most of Shropshire and bustling Black Country centres including Walsall and Wolverhampton. The only thing we don’t have is the sea!

Our shared diocesan vision extends an invitation to all to “Come follow Christ in the footsteps of St Chad”.

As we follow Christ in the footsteps of St Chad, we pray that the two million people in our diocese encounter a church that is confident in the gospel, knows and loves its communities, and is excited to find God at work already in the world. We pray for a church that reflects the richness and variety of those communities and partners with others in seeking the common good, working for justice as a people of hope.
