Vicar with 0.5 stipend plus house

Is God calling you to Lancashire?

  • A single church parish in the liberal catholic tradition
  • Parish of 9,000 on the northern edge of Burnley
  • Great links with an excellent church school
  • Committed lay leaders and an authorised pastoral care leader
  • A diocese committed to parish ministry, with a clear vision for healthy churches transforming communities

Engaging with the diocesan Vision 2026 the parish has identified the following priorities for the new priest:

  • To improve engagement with the wider community
  • To offer a warm welcome to families and worshippers of all ages, making church more enjoyable
  • To build a good relationship with the two local schools
  • To encourage young people to take part in the life of the church
  • To provide a church-led ministry of pastoral care responding to the needs of the community
  • To offer prayer meetings and Bible study to develop our knowledge and relationship with God

The Vicar we are praying for

• Will guide and help us to grow in the knowledge and worship of God

• Will be a good listener, able to recognise talents and strengths in others in order to encourage active discipleship.

• Will have a visual presence in our community and be actively involved in all aspects of parish life.

• Will be able to connect with and encourage young people particularly relishing the opportunities of engagement with the schools in the parish.
