Are you a qualified accountant familiar with preparing annual statutory accounts and financial modelling/reporting? Do you enjoy engaging with others and building positive relationships?

We have an exciting and varied opportunity to join the Finance team as a Financial Accountant. You will support the Head of Finance to control, account for and report on all financial transactions, producing professional management information to senior staff and the Board of Trustees.

About us

We are the Church of England across the areas of Medway, north and west Kent, and the London Boroughs of Bromley and Bexley.

This is an exciting time to join us as welcome our new bishop and begin work to refine and sharpen our shared Called Together strategic vision. Both practically and pastorally, we work with our churches to respond to some of the biggest challenges facing society today, including the rising cost of living, mental and physical wellbeing, and climate change.

Everything we do is supported through the Common Fund – the common pot of money that our parishes generously contribute towards.

As Financial Accountant, you will also be responsible for managing the system to formulate and monitor these vital contributions which make up the majority of our income, and that support and progress our shared mission and ministry.

  • You will ideally have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role which includes preparing annual budgets, financial modelling, and analysis, cashflow reporting and statutory accounts.
