We are looking for an ‘Oversight’ Minister’ for a new and exciting future for the Roseland Peninsula. The Oversight Minister, who will live in a newly refurbished family home in Tregony, will have prime responsibility for building a new team to include a Team Vicar and a potential further full time Pioneer Minister. The plan is for each of the Roseland’s nine churches to have a Focal/Local Minister to integrate ministry across a single enlarged benefice and for the Oversight Minister to become Team Rector.

The plan is for each of the Roseland’s nine churches to have a Focal/Local Minister to integrate ministry across a single enlarged benefice. The Oversight Minister, who will live in a newly refurbished family home in Tregony, will have prime responsibility for building a new team to include a Team Vicar and a potential further full time Pioneer Minister.

We have established the structure and built a whole number of supports for ministry, but we have not yet completed the work of building the team.
We hope you see that we have deliberately left room for the person appointed to come and provide their own unique leadership - to shape the team itself and then develop the specific mission plan together.
For us, success looks like a team of motivated and trained Local Ministers and Pioneers, leading the church and the Mission Area into growth.

• Collaborative team working across the Roseland, sharing gifts, resources and skills for the growth of the gospel.
• New initiatives being pioneered to reach many who the church is not currently serving, especially amongst children and young people.
• People hearing the gospel for the first time and, God willing, coming to know Jesus for themselves, entering a life of worship.

The Oversight Minister will be passionate, enthusiastic and joyful; a collaborative worker able to bring people together for the work of the gospel. You’ll embrace intergenerational church, bringing people from every age group into the life of the church.

Many view the Roseland as one of the prettiest and most characterful parts of Cornwall

The Roseland sits within Powder Deanery, which incorporates the City of Truro and a number of rural benefices. There is great wealth here, but also a very economically and culturally diverse population, with relatively low church attendance.

Vision for growth and renewal

The deanery sees a new opportunity to revitalise the church for an exciting future with the coming together of parishes to pioneer mission and ministry. Subject to Pastoral Reorganisation, the deanery’s plan is to establish a new Team Ministry on the Roseland with the appointment of an Oversight Minister to become Team Rector in a new United Benefice.
