We are seeking a prayerful and capable Team Rector to lead our newly created United Benefice, made up of seven diverse church communities ranging from new housing developments to historic and rural.

Working alongside our Team Vicar, Assistant Curate and lay teams as we begin to work together for the benefit of our church communities.

The ideal candidate will be:

* A team player and strong leader, passionate about proclaiming the good news of Jesus Christ and ready to develop and strengthen the spirituality of our congregations;

* Able to encourage harmony and cooperation across all seven parish churches, happy to work with the strengths and weaknesses of these individual communities whilst maintaining their distinctive identities;

* Inclusive in approach, with strong pastoral skills and relates well to people of all ages;

* Someone with a proven track record of leading missional growth. We see real scope and opportunity for the new Benefice, particularly around the new housing developments.

In late 2020/early 2021 we began prayerful and careful deliberation about how best to organise mission and ministry amongst our seven parish churches, and we agreed to become a Team Ministry comprising Addington, Birling, Leybourne, Offham, Ryarsh, Trottiscliffe and West Malling. Working alongside the existing experienced team, our new Rector will be key in shaping governance and leadership of the Benefice, including the formation of a Joint Council and worship patterns.
