The Bishop of Leeds and PCC of the Parish seek a Priest in Charge to lead the congregation of Armley with New Wortley in the Anglo-Catholic tradition. The Parish is in a urban inner city area of Leeds, with population of around 10,000.

We are looking for a wise and caring priest who can lead us with vision and humility, while sharing responsibility with the laity.

These requirements mesh particularly with the Diocesan Strategy goals 2) Reimagining ministry; and 3) Nurturing lay discipleship.

We seek a priest who is able to:

  • help the church to re-emerge stronger from the pandemic and to reconnect in new, creative ways with the local community,
  • build up confident lay ministry, developing pathways for greater discipleship and increased lay leadership, and encouraging individuals to develop and use their faith, gifts and talents
  • build on our relationship with St. Bartholomew’s Church School, and the Uniformed Organisations, reaching out to families, young people and children.

For further details about the role and the parish please see the documents below.
