Office Holder

The Benefice of Hanbury, Newborough and Rangemore comprises three parishes located in the beautiful rural landscape of East Staffordshire. We are seeking a House for Duty Priest to help us share the good news of Christ, not least through our outstanding Church of England schools and a focus on the growth of our churches.

This is an exciting post for someone who has a desire to minister through rural parish teams. There is huge potential for growth across our three churches, creating strong and sustainable individual worshipping communities. Outreach is a key priority for us.

We are praying for a Priest who is:

  • Community orientated with an active personal faith and the ability to encourage and develop faith in others.
  • A collaborative team player who can lead by example, with a rural pastoral heart, able to support and inspire colleagues in the ministry team and especially potential lay leaders.
  • Keen to help develop our visions for the future and encourage fresh expressions of church across our individual rural parishes.

We can offer:

  • A great ministry team with a good mix of gifts and church traditions.
  • Youthful congregation members with energy, ideas and a willingness to look outward.
  • A 4-bedroom home with office in rural Staffordshire overlooking the Dove valley.
  • A wide variety of community types, spread across our three rural parishes.

About the Diocese

Lichfield Diocese is one of the most diverse dioceses in the country. Rolling countryside and vibrant inner-city life nestle together in a region that takes in Staffordshire, the Potteries of Stoke-on-Trent, most of Shropshire and bustling Black Country centres including Walsall and Wolverhampton. The only thing we don’t have is the sea!

Our shared diocesan vision extends an invitation to all to “Come follow Christ in the footsteps of St Chad”.

As we follow Christ in the footsteps of St Chad, we pray that the two million people in our diocese encounter a church that is confident in the gospel, knows and loves its communities, and is excited to find God at work already in the world. We pray for a church that reflects the richness and variety of those communities and partners with others in seeking the common good, working for justice as a people of hope.
