The Parish of Wigmore Abbey lies close to the border with Wales, in historic Marches country. Stretching over a beautiful part of rural Herefordshire the Parish encompasses eight churches caring for about 2,000 people.
We seek a priest who:
For an informal conversation contact the Archdeacon of Hereford, The Ven Derek Chedzey firstname.lastname@example.org
At the heart of each church is a strong sense of community and care for the people and, although tradition, liturgy and worship may vary between them, all the churches of the Parish generally work well together.
The buildings have great history and age and are very varied and greatly valued by their congregations. As might be expected in small villages and communities they are much at the centre of village life.
What we are hoping for and will value in our new priest is a prayerful and caring person who:
Can communicate the faith that enables the church to grow spiritually and numerically
Has the vision for encouraging families and young people to join our worshipping communities and to develop a good
relationship with the schools in our Parish
Is able to manage change with sensitivity and foster relationships within our communities
Will be able to comfortably lead worship in varying forms in our churches
Can be an effective leader of a Parish pastoral team
