Provide administrative and technical support to the Church and its mission in the Diocese of Rochester.

Assist the Director of Formation & Ministry in the smooth running of the team by providing administrative support.

  • Provide general administrative support to the team, attending meetings, providing agendas, papers and note taking
  • Maintain the electronic diary for the team and its training activities
  • Monitor the budget and expenditure of the team and process invoices and travel expenses
  • Assist in the administration of a range of high quality training and development programmes for LLM, IME 4-7 (phase 2) and CMD (phase 3), including booking venues, responding to participant enquiries, registration and course materials
  • Be a key point of contact for students on LLM and IME courses including maintaining the student database, ensuring course materials are on the Virtual Learning Environment, co-ordinating student submissions and marking

We are currently looking for an excellent administrator to join our Formation and Ministry Team based at the Diocesan Office in Rochester. The team provides a range of high quality training and development programmes for clergy and lay ministers including; Initial Ministerial Development (IME) for Curates, Licensed Lay Ministry (LLM) and Clergy Ministerial Development (CMD), focusing on learning and developing within a ministerial context. The successful candidate will provide administrative support to the Director of Formation and Ministry and assist in all administrative aspects to support the smooth running of the team.

You will be familiar with the Church of England and its structures, with an understanding of ministry in the context of those being called to and engaged within it. Candidates must have an administrative background with strong IT skills. Attention to detail is crucial and you will be an excellent communicator. The Formation and Ministry Team Administrator will occasionally be required to travel to locations within the Diocese to assist at residential meetings and training events, including occasional weekends.
