The Benefice of Harlington, Tingrith and Westoning is part of the Diocese of St Albans and it is an enormously valued and valuable member of the Diocesan family. This is an exciting time to join this benefice as it develops further its common mission and outreach. There is a commitment to growth that needs to be undergirded by financial sustainability.

The formal addition of Harlington to the Benefice, after some years of working together following some years of complexity in the parish, is a particular opportunity to move forward.

Our vision for the Benefice is:
• to be welcoming and inclusive places which serve the people in our communities
• to help people of all ages and backgrounds meet with Jesus and grow in their relationship with Him
• to see God’s Kingdom continue to be extended by reaching out and welcoming those who are unconnected with God

We are seeking someone who:
• is a spirit filled person of prayer and a faithful teacher of the bible
• is an enabler who nurtures others in their ministries and spiritual gifts
• is pastorally minded with a heart for community, outreach and engagement with both the younger and older members of our communities
• will help us in our mission to share the good news of the gospel in ways which speak into individual lives
• can develop the Benefice’s spirituality through a balance of tradition, teaching and contemporary worship
• will promote unity and collaboration across the three parishes whilst supporting their individuality

In return we offer:
• support and enthusiasm to work alongside you, including a team of readers and lay leaders of worship and our proactive PCCs
• well established groups that link with children and families and our local schools, assisted by a self-employed Families and Outreach Consultant
• activities that link on a weekly basis with the whole community
• a comfortable detached four bedroomed vicarage in a village location
