Holy Trinity with St Augustine, Upper Tooting, is looking to appoint a Self-Supporting Priest.

Are you prayerful, outgoing, and passionate about the gospel?

If you possess these qualities, and can serve the church in a non-stipendiary capacity, might God be calling you to Upper Tooting?

Are you able to offer the benefice 6-8 hours each week, including Sunday mornings?

You would be:

● committed in daily prayer

● faithful in sacramental ministry, preaching and teaching

● passionate and driven to see the hungry fed and the lost saved

● able to offer the Benefice 6-8 hours each week, including Sunday mornings

  • A good preacher and a confident and lively teacher of the faith with the passion and ability to articulate and communicate the faith to others.
  • Desirous to be alongside and lead others in their spiritual journey, deepening their relationship with God through conversation and liturgical/sacramental worship
  • Warm and approachable with interpersonal skills which enable you to walk comfortably with people of all ages and from a wide variety of backgrounds and cultures.
  • An enabler of lay leadership, aiming not to do all the ministry, but to equip others to minister
  • Straightforward and honest. Capable of addressing conflict when it arises.
  • Prepared to work as part of a growing team, attending occasional meetings
  • Mature and able to maintain boundaries to avoid over-work
  • (If time allows), to be a pioneer in community development, evangelism and pastoral care.

We’re a large South London benefice, comprising Holy Trinity Church, which serves a geographical parish of 7,400 people in Balham/Tooting Bec, and St Augustine’s, which serves a parish of 5,400 people in Tooting Broadway. We’re (sub)urban, and densely populated.
