We are looking for a Parish Accounts Adviser to join our busy finance team. This role will provide varied accounting, administrative and technical advice, and support to parishes, assisting in the setup of bookkeeping and accounting processes and advising on the preparation of annual accounts, budget setting and monitoring and other general advice.
The successful applicant should hold an appropriate accounting qualification or have relevant church accounts experience. An understanding of the Charities SORP is essential and an awareness how it may affect parishes. Candidates must have excellent organisational and planning skills with the ability to prioritise a varied workload. The ability to communicate effectively with a range of people is essential and you should be able to travel within the boundaries of the Diocese including occasionally in the evenings and on weekends.
