This post is for Incumbent of St John the Baptist, Irlam and St Mary the Virgin, Cadishead which will be held in plurality.

This position also has the potential to be the Mission Community Leader.

In Manchester Diocese we are on an exciting journey of transformation and we are looking for leaders with creativity and energy.

St John’s and St Mary’s are situated in the neighbouring villages of Irlam and Cadishead are coming together to form a new partnership in the gospel.

We are looking for someone who will continue to enable us, to serve our communities in the name of Jesus, someone who will build on the good foundations already in place and help us join in God’s mission of love and hope in this new season.

To build up the faith of the Church:

1. To continue to develop a structure of discipleship that will enable Gods people to grow the depth of their relationship with God and with each other.
2. To encourage and develop further the environment where the gifts and talents of all ages are utilised within the church and community. To continue to enable lay and ordained ministries to be released.
3. To maintain and develop stronger links with the schools both primary and secondary within the area.
4. To seek to develop closer working relationships between St Mary’s and St John’s Teams establishing new sustainable working and worship.
5. Mission Community Leader: To be a change leader within the on-going transformations agenda of the Diocese.
6. Development of a team to oversee St John’s graveyard and St Mary’s garden of remembrance

• Be a person of faith and prayer
• Work with us to release new ministries both lay and ordained.
• Be active in encouraging young families and our work in the local schools.
• Support and encourage new disciples and help us grow deeper in our faith.

From the 1st June 2021, following Diocese wide consultation in 2019 our 20 Deaneries became 7 Deaneries.

St Mary’s and St John’s are part of the Salford and Leigh Deanery. The Diocese is currently undergoing a major transformations agenda, which the COVID-19 has highlighted the strategic need for change. Under the transformation agenda, St Mary’s and St John’s have become part of Mission Community 3 and this post will also carry with it the opportunity for the right person to become Mission Community Leader for this newly formed Mission Community.
