Isles of Scilly
Office Holder

We are seeking to appoint an experienced priest able to lead and shape a new future both for this generation and the next in the five churches and inhabited islands of the Isles of Scilly.

Each island has a diverse feel and personality and each is benefited by beautiful places to worship. Many islanders lead busy lives in tourism and wear more than one hat, but we are incredibly welcoming, spiritual and friendly. We exist to worship God and serve our local community and the wider world.

We need an experienced priest who is able to:-

  • Be an effective and imaginative communicator and a good listener. One who is able to mix with people from all walks of life – in short, a caring, pastoral parish priest.
  • Someone who is willing to explore active involvement in the wider community who will help us with the possibilities of the internet/social media to spread the faith and reach out to people outside the church.
  • A team player, who will delight in the variety of worship traditions and so enable closer ties with the local Methodist and Roman Catholic Churches. A committed, collaborative ecumenical leader.
  • Encourage and support efforts to reach families and the young people of our island schools and so grow the future generations of Christians.
  • To sum up: make your presence known! We can’t wait to welcome you!
