The Safeguarding Trainer will enhance safeguarding support for the Diocesan Safeguarding Adviser (DSA) in serving and equipping the Diocese to live out our Mission of Growing Disciples Wider Younger Deeper.

The postholder will deliver the Church of England’s Safeguarding Training Programme throughout the diocese to raise awareness of safeguarding children and adults and work closely with the Diocesan Safeguarding team, to help co-ordinate, plan and monitor safeguarding training within the wider context of safeguarding work within the Diocese. This will include advising parishes on Policy, Procedures and Practice Guidance, including the use of parish audit tools.

In addition, the Trainer will work jointly with the National Training Manager and other Diocesan training teams to develop a consistent approach to delivering high quality safeguarding training. Proven experience of excellent record keeping is essential along with providing statistical data on training administered. They will Develop links with statutory agencies including the Local Authorities Training Sections to offer access to additional safeguarding training opportunities for those working within our parishes.
