To know Jesus and make Him known in Chesham and the world

Emmanuel is an active and vibrant Conservative Evangelical Church located in Chesham, an attractive market town at the end of the Metropolitan line. Informal and welcoming, our church family is made up of all ages and backgrounds, where everyone has a part to play.

We are an outward-looking church, encouraging each person to encounter Christ and to live for him in every area of life. We have a heart for reaching our diverse local community with the good news of Jesus. We are a congregation of around 180 split across our large morning service and smaller more informal evening service.

We are praying for a godly, gospel-hearted and enthusiastic individual who:

  • has a passion for preaching God’s Word creatively to both newcomers and mature Christians.
  • has a gospel heart and energy for reaching the next generation.
  • is passionate about evangelism and has a heart for reaching a diverse community with the good news of Jesus.
  • is a person of prayer and the Word in private and in public.
  • demonstrates growth in Christ-likeness and facilitates discipleship and maturity.
  • is a team player, keen to work well with others across our parish.

This role will include:

  • ensuring Emmanuel retains and renews its outward-looking focus.
  • working with the staff team and DCC to implement and develop the vision for Emmanuel.
  • leading, pastoring and enabling the staff team.
  • encouraging and facilitating the discipling and maturing of every member of the congregation.
  • equipping the church through faithful, expository-led preaching.

Could you lead and envision us for our next era of gospel growth?
