Pathways Admin Support Officer - Maternity Cover

The learning, coaching and mentoring streams of Pathways equip our leaders, both lay and ordained, to be the best that they can be through supporting culture change in the diocese and promoting learning and development opportunities. For the period of the maternity cover, the Administration Support Officer will provide valuable support for these functions and for the wider Pathways project.


  • Supporting the Pathways Manager, Coaching Lead and Coaching & Mentoring Co-ordinators through excellent administration.
  • Working with the Pathways Engagement Officer, developing Pathway’s engagement with individuals and worshipping communities through our website pages, networks and general and targeted communications, including social and new media.
  • Liaising with the Learning and Development team to ensure that resources are available for learning events.
  • Collating, entering and managing data for learning, coaching and mentoring.
  • Working with the Pathways Engagement Officer, create and manage resources for our Moodle platform.
  • Being the first point of contact for enquiries about learning, mentoring or coaching and then signposting appropriately.
  • Responding to enquiries about the Pathways platform and helping learners to access and fully utilise the system.


The successful candidate will need to have:

  • Experience of working in an office and handling a variety of enquiries and tasks
  • Experience of communicating through all types of media (including social media and YouTube)
  • Excellent communication skills including the ability to provide concise and accurate information to individuals and groups at all levels
  • Experience of data entry and formatting of reports
  • The ability to handle general email queries to Pathways
  • Experience of successfully working in a project team
  • Attention to detail and understand the importance of accuracy

  1. This is a part-time fixed term post: 14 hours per week for the period of maternity cover
  2. Salary: £9,528 (equivalent to £23,820 full time)
  3. Pension: Membership of the Church Workers Pension scheme with 12% employer contributions
  4. Holidays: 5 weeks per year plus Bank Holidays pro-rata plus 3 additional Diocesan Discretionary Days
  5. The post holder will report to the Pathways Manager
  6. The employer is the BDBF (Birmingham Diocesan Board of Finance)
