This role is licensed to the three parishes of Allerton, Clayton and Fairweather Green, with a responsibility to foster and promote deeper partnership between them, as well as the neighbouring parish of Thornton. The role of Associate Minister can be seen as leading from the “second chair”. This involves supporting the Vicar/Interim Priest-in-Charge in his overall leadership and guardianship of vision, while being able to offer leadership with particular congregations or aspects of ministry across the three parishes.
Closing date for applications is midnight on 2nd December with interviews on 14th December 2021
Our vision as the Diocese is about confident clergy equipping confident Christians to live and tell the good news of Jesus Christ. For all of our appointments we are seeking clergy who have a joyful and confident faith which has inspired a track record of church growth.
This appointment is to support the church revitalisation work in Allerton and Fairweather Green which is being led by the Vicar of St John’s Clayton, who is also Interim Priest-in-Charge of the two parishes.
The PCC of St John’s Clayton has accepted the Bishop of Bradford’s invitation to be designated as a Resourcing Church. This presents clear challenges and opportunities for this role, especially in regard to church planting within the parish (eg on the Thornaby estate) and church revitalisation beyond the parish.
