Flitwick
Office Holder

The Benefice of Parish of St Peter and St Paul with St Andrew, Flitwick is part of the Diocese of St Albans and it is an enormously valued and valuable member of the Diocesan family. The Bishop of St Albans and I expect its mission and ministry to further develop and strengthen under the guidance of its new Vicar

The Benefice requires a priest who will build on the strong base of pastoral ministry by the previous incumbent over many years, and enable the church to grow spiritually and numerically. In particular this will require the new Vicar to develop and release the gifts of the congregation, to promote shared leadership and to further enhance the role of the Parish Church at the heart of the town.

This is a post full of opportunity. The new incumbent will be a person of vision who can connect with the congregation’s appetite for change.

This is a benefice which has affirmed and has been blessed by the contribution of ordained women in public ministry, and the Diocese looks for this approach to continue.

Our church family seeking a committed, energetic, and approachable mentor to lead our post-pandemic renewal as an inclusive, loving, and active Christian community, serving and caring for our town. Flitwick is community of 13,500, with excellent access to national road and rail networks, as well as delightful countryside on the doorstep.

We prayerfully seek an incumbent who is:

  • Supportive and compassionate
  • Environmentally friendly
  • A strong leader and effective delegator
  • Able to see and encourage the potential in others
  • Be sympathetic to the liturgical and eucharistic traditions
  • Be forward thinking in worship
