Office Holder

Buckshaw Village Church is a recently planted congregation which meets in a community centre and serves a large newbuild suburban village between Chorley and Leyland. The church is praying for an evangelical pastor, obedient to God’s word and enthusiastic in teaching it, who can build on a period of significant growth and lead them to long-term sustainability. There is a small staff team comprising a part-time administrator, a children’s worker and some very committed lay leaders. The Church is a Conventional District with its own PCC and seeks a full-time pastor.

The candidate will:

Continue to reach out to Buckshaw Village through service and proclamation and so support the church in living out its mission statement: ‘Loving Jesus, loving people, loving life.’

Lead the congregation deeper in faith and help them to explore what it means to live lives wholly patterned on God’s word

Develop new leaders and especially help the church to attract more men into leadership

Maintain and develop the strong friendship between the church and its three form entry Voluntary Aided Primary School

Help the church on the next step of its journey to viability in governance and finance

The candidate will:

Live a life of integrity and display godly character

Be a person of prayer, committed to their own discipleship and attentive to their own growth as a Christian.

Love God’s word and love faithfully preaching it

Bring enthusiasm in working with families, children and schools

Have a generosity of spirit towards those who think differently in a congregation which is broad and eclectic

Enjoy drawing out gifts and skills in others and never be afraid to ask for help
