As part of the Micah Liverpool team the main aim of the role is to manage the Micah Liverpool Volunteer Programme. This role is based within Liverpool Cathedral.
The post holder will be responsible for recruitment of volunteers, volunteers attendance and completion rates, employability support and achieving job outcomes. The Programme Lead will also maintain relationships with partners including education providers and employers. There is also a need for the post holder to support volunteers who are using our IT facilities & carrying out job searches.
The right candidate will be someone who is a great ambassador with exceptional customer service skills and enjoys working with other team members and the wider team in the Cathedral.
To be responsible for all aspects of the delivery of the Micah Liverpool volunteer programme.
Be enthusiastic and professional and deliver a high standard of customer service at all times.
Display a positive “can do” attitude and look for more efficient and effective ways of working.
Building and maintaining good working relationships with employers and partners.
Contacting volunteers by phone, zoom/teams, e-mail or face-to-face.
Completing questionnaires and feedback forms with volunteers.
Carrying out one to one sessions with potential volunteers.
Recording personal details of volunteers.
Update and maintain volunteer information on database.
Maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information
An awareness of data protection legislation and processes.
Supporting volunteers with employability needs..
Maintaining an organised working environment for both colleagues and customers.
Operate in accordance with the Cathedral’s Health & Safety policies.
Demonstrate excellent communication skills when interacting with colleagues, partners, members of the congregation and visitors and at all times act as the Cathedral’s ambassador.
The post holder will undertake other relevant duties as may be requested from time to time and commensurate with the role.
Experience in the following is essential and should be evidenced in your application -
Level 3 Advice & Guidance Qualification or equivalent.
Experience in employability support.
Previous experience managing and maintaining a client caseload.
A basic understanding of “Social Justice”, what that means and its effect.
Experience using Microsoft Office Packages specifically Access & Excel.
Knowledge of social media platforms.
An ability to prioritise a variety of tasks.
Able to maintain relationships with stakeholders & partners.
Excellent organizational and team coordination abilities.
A pleasant, outgoing personality.
Ability to work as a member of team.
Ability to work alone and unsupervised.
Ability to work well under pressure.
Can demonstrate good problem-solving skills.
An understanding and commitment to maintaining required Safeguarding standards.

Micah Liverpool is a social justice charity founded between Liverpool Cathedral, Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral of Christ the King and St Brides that aims to relieve Liverpool residents from social injustice through food aid and employability projects.
We operate three projects - a foodbank, a food market and an employability programme for the residents of Liverpool City region.
