Foxhill is the Christian retreat house owned by the Diocese of Chester. It is set in 70 acres of woodland and is a peaceful house hosting retreats, conferences and residential stays. It is an excellent working environment.

Foxhill comes alive at mealtimes in the dining room which is the hub of its hospitality.

Following a recent restructure, various positions are available to join the small and friendly staff team at Foxhill, including:

  • Part time cook
  • Housekeepers
  • Casual staff

Job Title: Housekeeper within the Guest Services Team

Reports to: Assistant Director

Salary Range: £17,336 - £18,482 FTE dependent upon qualifications and experience. (Pro rata for part time)

Hours of work: Part time 28 hours - Flexible working is required to work on a rota system 7 days per week between the hours of 8am and 9pm.

Normal place of work: Foxhill House

Overall Purpose of the Post

To ensure that the guest accommodation, meeting rooms and public areas are maintained to a high standard.

To serve meals and refreshments to provide an outstanding service level

Main Duties / Responsibilities:

  • To ensure that Foxhill House is a place of welcome and a clear example of Christian hospitality;
  • To undertake housekeeping duties, including for public areas and to ensure that a high standard of cleanliness is maintained throughout;
  • To ensure that the bedroom hospitality trays are cleaned and refreshed daily where appropriate;
  • To ensure that all health and safety policies including H.A.C.C.P. are adhered to;
  • To assist with the laundry organisation of stock levels, returns and deliveries, as required;
  • To notify the Assistant Director regarding the stock levels of household equipment and materials;
  • To assist with the preparation of the Dining Room;
  • To serve meals and clear away as needed
  • To promote and maintain positive working relationships with the wider team, working collaboratively as required;
  • To provide duty management and overnight on-call cover when required;
  • Undertake training as required.
  • Carry out other such duties of a similar or related nature as may be required.
