Schools
a) To develop and maintain links with allocated schools (Especially Outwood Academy City Fields, St Thomas a Becket School and Kettlethorpe High School) and to become a member of the school community that benefits the wellbeing of young people.
b) To ensure a professional approach to work in schools.
c) To be involved in Lessons, Mentoring and Assemblies and more as appropriate.
d) To be involved in the planning, and the running of one of the mission weeks/Christian
initiatives.
e) To demonstrate the gospel of grace to staff and students at all times.
f) To offer advice on creative arts materials and resources.
g) To provide pastoral support, as appropriate to pupils.
h) To be involved in other aspects of school life as appropriate, in keeping with the overall aims and objectives of the CROSS Project (e.g. Christian Aid Week, Anti-Bullying week, adopting a tutor group, sports tutoring).

St Catherine’s Church Centre
a) To plan, co-ordinate and lead St Catherine’s Church Sunday morning children’s activities.
b) To develop, plan and run a weekday youth group.
c) To build on the church’s work in Sandal Magna Primary School and to seek to establish and grow links with other schools.
d) To co-ordinate St Catherine’s monthly all-age Sunday morning worship.
e) To co-ordinate and facilitate special events across the year (e.g. Holiday Clubs, Family Fun Days, Family Christmas Services, youth alpha etc).
f) To develop, train and equip teams of volunteers for ministry with young people, children and families.

g) To act as a point of contact and ‘friend to the family’ of those with young children, identify those who are new to church and help them to integrate.
h) To attend fortnightly meetings with the vicar and/or others involved with work with young
people or families for supervision.
i) To collect all relevant monitoring information in regard to the impact of their role.

Youth Work
a) To help establish links between schools and churches, especially St Catherine’s Church.
b) To be involved in the occasional support, resourcing and networking of local youth leaders in other churches. Particularly with Church youth groups, youth work meetings and contributing to youth services.
c) Involvement with other team members, the Trustees, the Vicar and St Catherine’s PCC in the effective communication between the Project, the Church and supporters, through electronic and face-to-face communication.

Young People
a) To promote and demonstrate Christian values and understanding.
b) To raise awareness of, and challenge young people and children to consider Christianity as a valid lifestyle for today.
c) To help young people and children gain self-esteem and realise their potential.
d) To be a committed advocate for young people and children.
e) To build and model supportive relationships with young people and children.
f) To provide support, encouragement and discipleship for young people and children.
g) To pray for young people and children.

Office
a) To help maintain effective communication between the CROSS Project office and schools staff through regular staff meetings.
b) To actively participate in monthly supervision meetings with the CROSS Project Team Leader to review your work.
c) To participate in the CROSS Project weekly prayer meeting whenever possible.
d) Be a supportive colleague to assist others in their tasks when needed (team ethos).
6) Personal Development/Training
a) To embrace ongoing training/professional development opportunities relevant to the CROSS Project’s work and the work and mission of St Catherine’s Church.
b) To maintain and develop your own spiritual walk with God and abide by the Code of Conduct. The CROSS Project and St Catherine’s Church will offer support for this within regular supervision and the opportunities for retreats and conferences.
