These goals are beginning to shape our life as a diocesan family. We have chosen to invest in a strategy for growth over the next five years.

This senior role is critical to our strategy, and responsible for the fruitfulness of the resources invested in building the numbers of younger adults and people in poverty engaged in the life of the church.

The Director will be responsible for working with stakeholders to develop and implement actions to address the ‘Reach’ goal, and will lead the new teams we are building to deliver practical outcomes in both of these areas.

The ‘Reach’ goal is focused in two areas:

  • People in Poverty
  • Those in their 20s – 40s

Existing Workstreams are developing action plans in both these areas and both are seeking significant contributions from the Church Commissioners’ Strategic Development Fund. The Diocese has been invited to pursue its proposals for Reaching 20s – 40s to stage 2 of the application process with a view to securing £2.9m.

  • To lead the development and delivery of the Reach goal
  • To establish, develop and lead the 20s - 40s and People in Poverty teams
  • To work collaboratively with senior colleagues to co-ordinate and resource actions
  • To be an advocate for opportunities and needs in these areas
  • To develop and recommend a diocesan approach to church planting

You will be a committed Christian with experience as a pioneering practitioner.You will be a strategic thinker and leader with a passion to see people in these groups become disciples.
