We are a welcoming and active Benefice, situated between Aylesbury and Thame on the Buckinghamshire/Oxfordshire border and some 16 miles from Oxford and with a good train link to London from Haddenham. Our new Associate Minister will join us at much the same time as our new Rector and at a time of growth in housing in the Benefice, particularly in Haddenham.

Our Benefice is made up of five parishes: Aston Sandford, Cuddington, Haddenham, Kingsey and Stone and Dinton. Our congregations have their own distinctive styles of worship from traditional Anglican to informal Evangelical and we have developed our ability to provide online worship, prayer and fellowship which all the ministry team have been involved in, assisted by lay members of the congregations.

In a new colleague we are seeking a prayerful priest and pastor who:

• is able to offer a pastoral presence across the Benefice as well as in Cuddington.
• Is gifted in leading worship relevant to all generations
• enjoys leading worship in a variety of styles and contexts.
• is comfortable developing and mentoring lay leaders.
• is able to give two days per week plus Sundays.

• wants to be part of and contribute to a collaborative team of laity and clergy.
• appreciates the lifestyle and ministry offered by rural parishes.
• is a good communicator, familiar with IT and able to join in with videoed services.

Areas of ministry will depend on the successful applicant’s individual strengths and aspirations, and how those fit with the gifts of the existing team.

These are some of the areas we are looking to develop:

• Wider representation of all ages.
• Challenging and thought-provoking teaching relevant to the modern world.
• The pastoral care available in our village communities.
• Increased use by our communities of our churches for prayer, support, discussion and celebration.
• The development and mentoring of lay leaders.
  

A good sized 4 bed house is provided, set in the heart of the village of Cuddington with garage, parking and a small garden overlooking the church of St Nicholas to the rear. The village has a store with Post Office, a hairdresser and a Public House and the Infant part of Cuddington and Dinton Church of England school. There is also a well-used village hall with cinema and a playing field with active club house.
