We are a welcoming and active benefice, situated halfway between Aylesbury and High Wycombe, nestling in the beautiful Chiltern Hills. Our mission statement, Open to God: Open for Everyone, sums up both who we are and who we want to be in the future. We seek a supportive, encouraging Team Vicar for this dual role, having pastoral responsibility for St Dunstan’s Monks Risborough and St Peter’s Owlswick, and having a wider Team role for 2 days a week.

Main responsibilities for the role:

• Leading and enabling worship.
• Engaging and encouraging young families and children.
• Developing the spiritual growth of all ages.
• Developing a pastoral care team.
• Teaching to encourage our Christian life.
• Promoting Christian stewardship.
• Planning and working with the PCC.
• Working closely with team colleagues.
• Developing our work with and spiritual support for our school

Our new Team Vicar will:

• Be open, honest and a good listener
• Be an experienced and prayerful leader
• Have experience of reconciliation and healing within a community
• Be a good delegator
• Value people and help us increase the size of the congregation
• Be a team player
• Have a good sense of humour

The appointment of a new Team Vicar will bring to an end a vacancy of over a year, that has been made all the more challenging in 2020 dealing with Covid-19.

Wycombe District Local Plan, approved in August 2019, for 2,300 new homes to be built predominantly in the neighbouring parish of Princes Risborough, which will impact on the western edge of Monks Risborough. This development has yet to commence; the final stage is scheduled for completion in 2033.
