We are seeking a prayerful and enthusiastic priest who is theologically thoughtful and articulate, and inclusively minded. He/she must be willing to work collaboratively to deliver a variety of worship, and support the pastoral needs of the community.

Chislehurst is within the London Borough of Bromley and described as a 'commuter suburb'. It lies around 12 miles from Central London and has excellent transport links.

"Building a family that knows and reflects the love of Christ"

St Nicholas Chislehurst is predominantly a Eucharistic church (CW and BCP), but non-Eucharistic services are offered to suit all tastes. The new Rector will be expected to respect the current variety of services, which are all well attended.

Pastoral Offices are important to us. (There are 11 weddings booked in for 2020).

A Church primary school (now part of a MAT) is within the parish, and there are 2-3 school services in church every Term.

Be a prayerful, inspirational and enthusiastic leader, able to preach the Gospel engagingly and with relevance to everyday life.

Confident in providing a variety of worship while being sensitive to the needs of the congregation(s).

Work collaboratively with the ministry and lay team (currently comprising a PTO assistant priest, 4 Readers/LLMs, part-time Administrator, 2 churchwardens and large PCC).

Build on existing relationships with local schools, including the Church primary school.

Someone who: can relate well to families and understand the issues with work/life balance; is personable and relates readily to people of all ages; will be an ambassador for the Church and understands an ever-changing and diversifying community; can meet the pastoral spiritual needs of the wider community through wedding preparation, funeral and baptism ministry; is able to recognise, encourage and nurture the many gifts of those in our congregations; has a track record of leading mission and growth, both spiritually and numerically; and above all loves and cares for people, young and old.
