Holy Cross Anglican Church is situated in the historic heart of the city of Palermo just a short walk from the sea front and port and from the city’s main shopping centre. It owns its own building which was established in the late 19th century by British merchant’s using the port and has been described as being of ‘Arab/Norman’ architectural influence reflecting two of the cultural aspects of this part of the Mediterranean. There has been a Church of England presence in the city, with a short break during the second world war, ever since.
