Carlisle Diocese is seeking maternity cover for our Stewardship Enabler.

This important post will help to promote, support and enable generous giving as part of discipleship in churches across Cumbria, whilst also seeking to maximise key income streams to the diocese.

  • To provide practical support to help churches deliver stewardship initiatives and programmes
  • To help parishes adopt contactless giving in churches
  • To produce compelling resources around stewardship, generous giving, diocesan finances and parish offer
  • To deliver training at church, deanery, Mission Community and diocesan level to develop understandings around discipleship, generosity and giving.

Will have a thorough understanding of generous giving as part of discipleship. The candidate will support the ethos and purposes of the Church of England and preferably have experience of giving or fundraising in a Christian context.

The ideal candidate will have excellent written and oral communication skills, be experienced at producing compelling resources and have superb administration skills.

Carlisle Diocese is the Church of England in Cumbria. It is led by the Diocesan Bishop, the Rt Revd James Newcome, and includes over 250 parishes.

Salary £29,062.00 pro rata - 17.5-22 hours per week (flexible depending on personal situation of candidate)

Contract details initially 10 months, possibly extending to 13 months
