The Church Commissioners manage £8bn of assets, comprising a diversified portfolio of £6bn in equities, alternative assets, private market funds, bonds and cash, and £2bn predominantly directly managed property portfolio including urban and rural real estate, timberland and managed funds in the UK and overseas.
The Investment Team manage the portfolio through multiple external investment management arrangements. This creates a wide range of operational requirements and the need for an extensive set of functional capabilities within the team to support the requirements of the different investment arrangements and provide expert operational management. This is a new role, created to build a strong operations culture, ensure robust ‘first line’ management of operation risk, develop the team and drive change and industry good practice.
The role carries out day to day investment operations activities in support of the fund.
